  • Kindergarten
  • 4 pages
  • About 25 minutes, 3 min prep

What’s included

  • 4 student picture-choice sheets with 20 numbered choices
  • Completed picture Example on each student page
  • 2-page teacher companion with model, partner script and complete response criteria

About this resource

Practice a short partner conversation with familiar school pictures. Children ask “Which one do you like?”, listen to the answer, and circle the matching picture. No reading or writing is needed to answer.

The four student sheets move from sharing personal choices to recording a friend’s choice, trying new picture pairs, and meeting a new partner. Each page has a completed Example and five numbered picture choices. Children may point or skip any task.

The two-page teacher companion includes the model, exact partner question, complete response criteria, and a feedback move for children who mark their own choice instead of their friend’s. Allow 2–4 minutes to prepare and 20–30 minutes in two sittings.

Students will

  • Ask a classmate which school object they like
  • Listen to a classmate’s choice and mark the matching picture
  • Take turns sharing choices with a new partner

Teaching notes

You’ll need: Four printed student sheets per child, Pencils

Support and extension

Children may point, use an adult to mark their indicated choice, or skip. Extend by naming the friend’s choice aloud.
