Questions teachers ask

What size is a Google Classroom header?

Google doesn’t publish an official size. Classroom shows the header as a wide banner, roughly four times as wide as it is tall, so a 4:1 image works best. These headers are 1600 × 400 pixels, so they stay sharp on large screens.

Why is the left side of every header plain?

Classroom shows your class name on top of the header, toward the left, in light text. A dark, calm left side keeps the name easy to read; the pictures sit on the right.

Can I use these headers for free?

Yes. Use them in any class you teach, at school or at home. Please don’t sell them or post them as a download on another site.

Can I change the header on my phone?

No. Changing the class theme only works in Classroom on a computer. Only teachers can change it.

Free for classroom and home use; please don’t resell or re-post the files. Every picture is an original LessonSupply drawing. Looking for something else? Get the Setup Kit.
